#1~Iverson

Iverson

Iverson was the first puppy I raises, with the help of my other second half, my twin sister, Ally! Iverson came after a LONG 11 month wait because Ally had a young sheltie and then we had to wait for a “Comet” puppy! Iverson arrived when he was 7.5 weeks old on March 31, 2005. He was a handful of a puppy! He was stubborn and amazing. He was distracted yet focused. He was obedient yet mischievous. Iverson was an amazing puppy to teach me! Iverson was on several special protocols including a relieving protocol and food reward protocol. He had his food changed I think 4 times in the year he was with us.

I moved out of my parents house and was forced to leave Iverson with my sister when we were 17, the day before Iverson’s first birthday. It always was really hard for me, and still is. I abandoned him, and it’s a hard thing to handle. Iverson was transferred a couple months later when Ally got a job working with Elephants and couldn’t devote the attention to him that he needed. He entered formal training at GDB’s California campus on August 11, 2006. He graduated two days before his second birthday and is now a working guide dog in California. He has one sister, Iona, and two brothers, Italy and Icon. All three boys graduated but Iona, also raised in our club, injured her leg at 4 or 5 months old and was career changed.

I’ll add more pictures of Iverson once I get them from Ally!

  1. The bottom two photos in the collage look JUST like Arturo!!! The big one does, too, somewhat. You can really tell they have the same dad!
