Puppy Supplies

Ally and I went on a shopping trip today for puppy supplies! Still not sure if she’ll get the other puppy, if nothing else she’ll get it and if she doesn’t get a job in the next month or so will see if Joy can take him/her and rehome him/her. Not the ideal situation… but…. If Joy is ok with it, of course. We shall see. Anyway, here’s some pictures of the results of our shopping trip along with the toys and what nots I already had.

No “E” afterall…..

So it doesn’t look like Max and I will be getting an “E” puppy in May……

We won’t know our little fluffball from birth…..

We won’t be getting a puppy in May at all…….

We won’t be having duedate tickers and age tickers from birth….

Because…..

……..

……

………..

Joy is picking up two puppies as soon as she can make it to the coast through the snow and we are getting one (most likely)!!!! I can’t wait! I’m so excited! I don’t know what to do with myself! *Jumps up and down* This is finally happening! I can’t believe it!

E Names

So with the breeding of our puppy becoming immanent I figured it’s time to get on the ball to find some really good “E” names, unlike the ones I submitted to Ally for her “E” puppy *wink* (Like Enchilada….) Anyway, I came up with a list of names that I love and that aren’t my cats name (Elijah) and my nieces name (Emily) or anything like the two, would be WAY too confusing! So here’s the list, I must say, I am far more pleased with the Female “E” names I found versus the Male “E” names, but I’ll take either one! What do you all think?

Email from M&J

Ally recieved this email from M & J about Lo-lo while he was in training! I would like to extend my deepest thanks and appreciation for these kind words about my boy! Makes me know that much more how wonderful he truely has turned out to be!

Ally
Sorry to hear that Loden got career changed.  Since I am a first time handler. I got the chance during my three days of working with juno. On the morning before receiving J. The instructors had my class mates and I work with the “green Dogs” These were dogs that were 2 months away from going into class. ( he would have been in the July class of students)  And guess who I got to work with. Yep Loden. He is a big sweet heart and I’m sure will make an awesome buddy for someone. smiles. The time that I did spend with him he was very calm and relaxed and didn’t mind if only a little bit of food actually made it to his mouth. I have dexterity issues in my right hand. And so the first couple of times I would start out with a small handful of kibble and out of that group. Only a couple of kibble would get to his mouth. I was reassured that the food that hit the floor would just be used as a distraction for the other dogs. That way I would not feel bad about having food spill on the floor. lol.
I also got to work with his brother landcaster. He was the same as his brother. A big sweet heart.
Just thought  I would write to you and let you know. That I reginozed Loden’s name.

Planning

Ally and Alex are in town since everyone has work off and the parentals went to the coast to see if there were any whales in the area. So Ally and the guys and me went to a park with Teddy and Kira. The guys played (are playing) disc golf and Ally and I played with the dogs, looked a good picture spots and good exposure activity for the puppies. It’s so weird to think about, without a close club, we will have to come up with good exposure places, age appropriate locations and outings. Not saying we won’t have outings/exposure/socialization with JLAD and the school, but not as accessiable for us or as fitting into our lifes, non only puppy outings. The park we went to has a grated bridge at the entrance that has a concrete walkway in the middle, perfect place to get a pup used to walking and being comfortable on grates. There are good picture stations (not the best) but good places to practice “up” and other commands. It’s so crazy, in only a matter of months our puppies will be born and we will know their personalities and have PUPPY BREATHE! So exciting! As much as it kills me that it is still over 5 months before our puppies come home, it’s only right around 3 months before our puppies are born. It’s so much easier thinking about them being born and our journey with them starting there, instead of when they are 8 weeks old. The next 3 months will FLY by, spesially compared to the last 18 months we’ve been without puppies!

As fast as 2008 as flown by, 3 months will for sure be a cake walk from here *wink*

Forever Home

Loden will finally be getting his forever home. He will be a pet and get lots of loves and kisses and goodies, just like he was always happy. He won’t be coming to our house though. Over the last two months the foster home Loden has been in hasn’t seen any thing related to allergies so he is going to be placed as a K-9 Buddy. I’m happy for my boy, I guess he’s not my boy any more, but Loden will finally get his forever home. I hope I get to visit him one more time. They don’t have a match for him yet, but once they do we will get the news. I hope he lives a long happy life with his child and that he remains healthy.

As much as my heart is broken that he won’t be coming home, I can’t help but be relieved that this is finally over. It’s well past time. Loden is going where he belongs and I can FINALLY be excited and plan and not feel guilty about getting a puppy to raise from another school. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I don’t have to worry anymore about “what if” Lo-lo comes home, what if our landlord doesn’t want three dogs here, what if we can’t afford his medical needs, what if I can’t split my time between three dogs and the family well enough. I felt like I was betraying Loden anytime I was going to get a puppy from another school, but I no longer feel that way. Loden is doing what he was bred to do, helping someone improve their life, and I will continue to raise, what school will be “home” for me is yet to be seen, but I can’t wait to start the adventure with little “E” soon!

Only 2 months!

Only 2-ish months until Sage is bred with our little “E” litter! I really really need to print out another application and send it up to Joy, also see about going up to some of their meetings at the beginning of the year, I would like to get aquainted with how they work now, instead of with an 8 week old puppy! Guys, I’ve never had the priviledge before of knowing the puppy we are going to raise from BEFORE birth, and I can’t really put it into words. It’s something VERY few people get to experience, unless of course you are the breeder caretakers or work for the school. I’m so happy to get to experience the whole thing, from the very beginning! Very soon now we’ll have due date tickers up for our little “E” litter! I CAN’T WAIT!!
